Fawkes – Book Review

An amazing blend of history and fantasy.

Fawkes takes elements of 17th century England and actual historical events of the Guy Fawkes gunpowder plot and weaves in an ingenious fantasy element.

A plague to add tension to the story and give the main character a strong motivation,

A magic system that keeps things exciting in addition to adding a thought provoking faith-based element.

Best of all the story has characters that are engaging, and that you can really invest in. I love seeing how some of the character interactions develop through this book, especially between Thomas and another significant character that I won’t mention. (No spoilers now ūüėČ ) Suffice it to say that the moment when Thomas learns this character’s secret is one of the best moments of the book.

Oh, and as an added bonus, check out these pre-order goodies! The mask cards are so cool!
